Starting a career as a yachtie can be an overwhelming experience. You're bombarded with information about securing jobs, necessary actions, and destinations, all while trusting that online advice is steering you in the right direction.
The typical advice is to fly to a foreign country (generally Antibes), live in a crew house with fellow potential chammy kings and queens for an indefinite period, and "walk the docks" with a CV that everyone has different opinions on how to format. Then hand this CV to anyone who'll take it.
Upon arriving in Antibes, the competition becomes immediately apparent - you're surrounded by young, skilled, and attractive people all pursuing the same opportunities. Finding ways to stand out in this saturated market feels impossible, even for the most confident and qualified individuals.
After receiving countless questions through social media and email from readers of our Blog Series, CrewPass is heading to Antibes. We've heard from numerous greenies seeking guidance on CV writing, recruiter communications, and effective dockwalking strategies.
Our team brings extensive industry expertise:
Conrad, our Managing Director, brings valuable deck department experience, having reached bosun position before transitioning to founding CrewPass. Conrad is also a former Below Deck cast member.
